Kierra Sheard Kelly

Kierra Sheard Kelly

Date: Friday, Sept. 23

Time: 8 p.m.

Location: Hall A

Kierra Sheard Kelly is no stranger to breaking new ground. After all, the Grammy and Stellar Award-winning singer/songwriter grew up with two gospel barrier-breakers as role models: mother Karen Clark Sheard, a member of the legendary Clark Sisters; and grandmother, Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. Shaped by insightful and relatable lyrics, Sheard Kelly’s music merges gospel, R&B, hip-hop, dance, and pop to meet her listeners where they live.

Her divergent career also includes playing her mother in the Lifetime bio pic, “The Clark Sisters: The First Ladies of Gospel”; founding Eleven60, a fashion-forward clothing line exclusively for curvy women; pursuing her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Walden University; and helming SistHER, a mentorship program for women.
